Rubber Wristbands

Charity or awareness wristbands are often referred to as rubber wristbands although more often than not the wristband does not have any rubber in it.
The bands are normally made of 100% silicone which is a more durable material than rubber and has had no reported allergic reactions unlike wrist bands made with part rubber and silicone. The wristband is made using a mould which is constructed to accommodate 20+ wristbands and the silicone is then heated until molten and then poured into the mould.

The mould is made with the text or lettering raised on the inside of the gap for the wristband and once the molten silicone has cooled down the wristband is then removed and packaged. It is at the molten stage that some companies then add rubber as a cost reduction exercise.
